Cookie policy.
What cookies we use, what they do, and how to control them. Compliant with GDPR + ePrivacy + UK PECR + Germany TTDSG + CCPA. Manage your preferences any time via the 'Manage cookies' footer link.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. We use cookies (and similar tech like localStorage) for two purposes: (1) essential operation of the site; (2) anonymous analytics — only with your consent.
Essential cookies
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
cookie-consent-v1 | Stores your cookie consent choice | 1 year |
ccpa-dnsmpi-v1 | "Do Not Sell or Share" preference (CCPA) | 1 year |
Analytics cookies
Loaded only after explicit "Accept all" in the cookie banner — never by default.
| Tool | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Microsoft Clarity | Heatmaps + session recordings (anonymised) | 30 days |
| Google Analytics 4 | Page-level analytics, anonymise_ip enforced | 14 months |
| Plausible | Cookieless analytics — no cookies set, no PII processed | — |
Plausible runs by default because it sets no cookies and processes no personal data. GDPR-safe by design.
Consent + opt-out
Our cookie banner offers two choices: Accept all (loads Clarity + GA4) or Reject non-essential (only essential storage). California residents can additionally use the "Do Not Sell or Share" toggle to opt out of all non-essential tracking under CCPA, which we honour globally.
Managing cookies
You can re-open the consent banner any time via the "Manage cookies" link in the footer. Browser controls also work — disable cookies entirely, or clear cookies between visits. Plausible runs without cookies regardless.
